About 59,100 applicants paid fees and gained admission into various undergraduate programs in the first round of seat allocation at Delhi University, Registrar Vikas Gupta said on Tuesday. Tuesday was the last day for fee payment by those accepting college and their assigned course.

“Of the 72,800 students who accepted the college and course, approximately 59,100 sealed their admission by paying a fee,” Gupta said. Gupta said vacant seats will be posted on Wednesday. Thereafter, the university will open a two-day window from Wednesday allowing those who have been admitted to undergraduate courses to progress to their higher preference of “program + college combination”. “It is important to note that an applicant who is upgraded will be required to ‘accept’ the upgraded seat and complete admissions procedures on the upgraded assigned seats within the specified time frame,” Gupta said in a statement based on seat availability. . , the university will declare the second round of the Central Seating Allocation System (CSAS Round-II) on Oct. 30, he said.

“For the second round of allocation, candidates must accept the seat allocated from Monday, October 31 at 10:00 a.m. to Tuesday, November 1 at 4:59 p.m.,” he added. According to the detailed schedule released by the university earlier this month, colleges will verify and approve the online application from October 31 to November 2. The deadline for applicants to pay admission fees online is November 3. For the third round, the vacant slate will be posted on November 4. In the third round, the university will give a chance for mid-entry and a window to rearrange higher preferences from November 5-7. According to the schedule, the third allocation list will be announced on November 10.

Candidates must accept the assigned seat by November 13. The college will verify and approve online applications from November 11-14. The university will announce the first round of allocation for vacant seats by November 17. The university may announce more on-site rounds subject to the availability of vacant seats, the statement said.

At the University of Delhi, admissions to 79 undergraduate programs in 67 colleges, departments and centers are made for the first time on the basis of Common University Entrance Test (CUET) scores. Until last year, admissions were through merit lists based on Class 12 grades, which saw thresholds soar. The university used to announce up to seven cut lists each year.
