CUET not required for admission to North Eastern Hill University Colleges in Meghalaya: Dharmendra Pradhan

CUET 2022 is not rewarded for North Eastern Hill University (NEHU) in Meghalaya

CUET would not be required for admission to undergraduate courses in colleges affiliated with North Eastern Hill University (NEHU) in Meghalaya, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said on Thursday. In a letter to Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma, Pradhan said the exemption was granted for this academic year, considering the geographical conditions, remote locations, digital connectivity and limited infrastructure. “NEHU-affiliated colleges will continue the existing practice of admissions instead of CUET,” the education minister said in the letter. The Common University Entrance Test (CUET) has been introduced for admission to courses at all Central Universities, starting this academic year.





The chief minister had met on April 25 with Mr. Pradhan, asking for the exemption for colleges in Meghalaya.
