Patna University Colleges Hold Introductory Meeting Today | Patna News

PATNA: All colleges in University of Patna (PU) are about to organize an initiation meeting for students newly admitted to their three-year courses in the arts, sciences and commerce sectors, both in regular mode (conventional) and in self-financed mode (professional) during the current academic session (2022-23) Thursday. The meeting will take place at the college according to their own schedule.
Online admission of students in the cash round against remaining seats in different academic programs at different colleges was finally closed on Wednesday. Classes for these students will start on Friday according to their respective schedule.
During the orientation meeting, freshmen would be briefed on the rules and regulations of the respective institution as well as the different facilities available for boys and girls. All these students were admitted to PU colleges on the basis of their results in the combined entrance test organized by PU. Therefore, most of these newcomers would join the colleges directly after passing their class XII school review.
UP’s Dean of Student Welfare, Anil Kumar, said for the first time that these undergraduates would go through the new Choice-Based Credit System (CBCS), in which they would be required to opt for some skill development courses in addition to core subjects. They would all be placed under the semester system, he said. PU happens to be the first university in the state to introduce SCCS in the first cycle of the current session. Gradually, the different provisions of the New education policy would also be introduced into the curriculum and the three-year degree could also be transformed into a long-term four-year course, the dean said.
